Experience
I have been a teacher for 25 years and a school librarian for five of those years. In the classroom and the library, I am committed to creating an environment where students are challenged, supported, and encouraged. In order to provide that environment, creating a sense of community is essential. Students have opportunities to share about their lives and experiences in addition to learning the content. Students participate in games, activities, and other learning opportunities that keep them engaged and connected with each other.
Outside of the classroom, my family and I are trivia enthusiasts. We regularly play at trivia events and have been developing our own trivia questions for years. Decades of writing assessment and activity questions for the classroom have prepared me to write thoughtful, engaging, and fair questions at varying levels of difficulty.
I can't wait to use my experience in research, classroom instruction, and trivia to provide opportunities for adults in skilled nursing care to make connections with fellow residents and staff and engage them with memory-activating activities.
